Maria Patricia Diaz | Certifications: MS, KYT-200 (Kripalu Yoga Teacher), RYT-200® (Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance), and Health Supportive Chef from The Natural Gourmet Institute
Professional Affiliations: National Yoga Alliance, Kripalu Yoga and Ayurveda Association (KYAA), Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Association of Talent Development (ATD)
Provides: Yoga Basics and meditation instruction for group classes and private clients. Life and professional/executive coaching.
Patricia’s yoga journey began in 1989 when she was diagnosed with stage four terminal cancer. During the most difficult time in her life, and with the help of friends, family and life mentors, she turned to yoga, plant-based diets, and other wellness techniques to manage her crisis and then gently restore her health after cancer treatments.
The lessons Patricia learned and years of yoga practice led to an enthusiasm for well-being, a search for a depth of knowledge, and provided a compass for her life and career. In 2019, motivated by a desire to start sharing this knowledge with others, she completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Program at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. It also led her to pursue training in the plant-based chef program at the Natural Gourmet Institute in New York City.
Patricia’s teaching style reflects the influence of gurus and teachers that have come into her life. She is passionate about teaching the foundations of yoga to beginners and all ... partly because she spent many years working on the basics, but also because she believes that anyone – no matter the physical challenge – can practice yoga. She loves to help others connect with their inner wellness coach, and she believes that a genuine practice starts with a strong foundation honoring the principles of ‘ahimsa’ – first do no harm.
Patricia is also a writer, health-supportive chef, and a human resources expert. Visit her website and “Colorful Ever After” blog about her lessons learned after cancer at |

Anita is passionate about teaching students students of all levels and abilities, with a special interest in guiding “Silver Warriors” – yoga students in their wisdom years. Inspired by her own Silver Warrior journey to retain strength, flexibility and balance as she ages and helping her parents through their trials and tribulations of aging, she is sensitive to the needs of students who, perhaps, have become “creaky” with age or wear-and-tear by physical exercise or life events. She skillfully offers students modifications to poses to help them find their optimal pose expression. Her yoga classes weave yoga postures (asanas) with yoga philosophy and themes that apply to modern living. Anita’s classes also incorporate therapeutic fascial release techniques to help your body slide and glide as it was designed to do and energy medicine practices that re-pattern energy imbalances that impede optimal health and well-being.
Anita loves sharing the knowledge she has gained in her studies with Dream yoga students, which she has done since 2013. She has been practicing yoga since 1999 and teaching since 2011. Anita teaches an alignment-based, heart-oriented yoga style that includes a spiritual dimension for a practice designed to safely open the body, mind, heart and spirit. Her 200-hour yoga teacher training was in the Anusara® tradition. She subsequently completed a 500-hour course of study in Body Balance Yoga®, and a 300-hour advanced teacher training program in the Ashaya Yoga® method. She began her studies of the energetic body with Anodea Judith and became a Certified Sacred Centers Healer in 2020. Intrigued by the subtle body’s energetic systems, Anita went on to study Eden Energy Medicine and she is in her third year of studies.
This winter, in classes, Anita will focus on feet as the means to your quality of life, building strength so you can fend off the loss of muscle mass that comes with aging, and balance to withstand the challenges of daily life. Into that mix, she’ll sprinkle energy medicine techniques to empower you to achieve your highest levels of health and well-being. |
